Some Guidelines before exploring hearing from God:

1. "Guard your steps as you go to the house of God, and approach to listen..." (Ecclesiastes 5:1-3)
2. Pray for a hedge of protection. (Matthew 6)
3. Test every spirit (1 John 4)
4. If something feels off, pause and find community.

5 Playful Ways to Hear From God

1. Stop, and ask “Jesus, now what?” And listen for what comes to mind.
2. Go on a walk and ask Jesus, “Should I go left, right or center?” and then walk and follow the promptings. (Directions here)
3. Sit in silence with God. (Guided Silence available here)
4. Read the Bible and try Lectio Divina. (Reference here)
5. Ask for something in a prayer, and see how he answers it. (Matthew 7:7-12)
